What is a Small Group?
Joining a Small Group is one of the most significant ways to grow in your relationship with Jesus and with others. Gathering with about a dozen people (or less) committed to meeting consistently to study a topic of common interest, the setting is ideal for going deep - in relationship and content - as you wrestle with hard truths and expand your understanding of God and the world.
Small Groups meet weekly or monthly for a defined season (though several groups choose to continue on together after the set end date). If you are new to Highrock MetroWest, we encourage you to start with Climbing High Rocks at MetroWest: a four-week introductory group. There are four topics:
High Rock One: What is Christianity?
High Rock Two: How is Christianity different from Secularism? Christianity and those things identified with Secularism (e.g. the relationship of faith to reason, etc.).
High Rock Three: How is Highrock the same or different from other churches: the unique mission and purpose of Highrock!
High Rock Four: Living your faith beyond you: you are gifted. You have a purpose and a place to serve the Lord.
Climbing High Rocks groups are held after church every Sunday and continuously rotate topics. After a new person goes through them, a whole menu of other small groups, classes, and courses are available. For those who are not visitors, or who otherwise desire to opt-out of Climbing High Rocks, contact GeorgeC@highrock.org for more ways to be involved in growing your faith at Highrock MetroWest!
More Highrock MetroWest Small Groups
There are several small groups that meet weekly or monthly at Highrock MetroWest. Two new groups are led by Pastor George Cladis: "Deeper Dive" dives deep into the sermon preached the prior Sunday, digging up additional treasures for discussion and prayer; and "The Gospel of Matthew" is an expository walk through this intriguing Gospel. Both of these groups involve short teachings (about 15 minutes) followed by discussion and prayer.
Even if you have never attended Highrock, we invite you to jump in. If you already have a few people in mind, consider starting your own group. Contact Pastor George (GeorgeC@highrock.org) about how to get started.
Please note that some groups meet virtually and so are open to people across the country or globe.
Greater Highrock Groups!
As part of the Highrock family of churches, we offer groups in addition to those specifically for Highrock MetroWest. Whether you are looking for a book group, an inductive Bible study, a place to explore faith for the first time, or a discussion group about the current sermon series, there is something for you.
