Looking Forward At Highrock MetroWest

I am asked frequently: where is Highrock MetroWest going?

Great question! If you don’t have a destination to move toward, then it will be determined for you randomly.

Look at your own life as an example. The more directed you are, the more likely you’ll move toward your goal.

We start with Highrock’s Mission: We create communities that encourage questions & inspire each other to love like Jesus. Summed up in: Community, Curiosity, and Compassion.

And Highrock’s Vision: Transformation through Connecting with God Personally, God's People, and God's Purposes.

How does Highrock MetroWest fit into that Mission and Vision? Some of the ways we answer this question we’ll discover together in 2022, but here are some ways we’re living this out now:

Off the Charts Worship! To “love like Jesus” we need to connect with God personally and offer our lives to God’s purposes. In worship, we want to encounter Jesus, fall in love with him, be transformed by him, dedicate ourselves to him, and serve him.

All-In Communities! We seek to build Holy Spirit transforming communities with our children from cradle to launch (young adulthood). We want to track with them, love on them, invite them to an experience with God, and to serve the Lord. We also want to inspire curiosity among adults to grow in their faith and service in community with each other. Small groups and discipling opportunities will increase going forward.

Crazy Out-There Compassion! We are touched by God to serve the larger world around us in transformational ways. Together in 2022, we’ll ask the question: How is MW living out the transforming love and compassion of Jesus in the world around us? I am thrilled to be a part of the answer with you!

Years ago, I was serving in a homeless mission in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. I saw this fellow who was so kind and caring in the ways he offered food and prayer to homeless people. I asked him, “How did you get so good at loving these folks that are so unlovable?” His reply, “Because I was one of them once until God got a hold of me.”

In truth, our motivation to serve, give, and love is this: I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see. Amen!

- Pastor George
